Cowboy Up - Pt.3
Hope y'all enjoy! As always if there's anything wrong/inaccurate let me know. I'm currently looking through the show and picking out the scenes from each episode I want to put her into if anyone has any they'd like to see please let me know!
Pairing: Ryan (Yellowstone) x Dutton!reader
WC: 1894 (I wanted to split it but there was no good dividing point)
Previous part - Next part
---
A few months had passed and y/n had settled back into life on the ranch. She had become accustomed to the 4am alarm in the form of Rip banging on the trailer, dragging herself into the bunk house and Lloyd handing her coffee before heading out to start work before the sun had begun to touch the mountain peaks. Winter had arrived in Montana and the snow had descended from the mountains and into the valley. In between the mountains, the winter sun did little to keep the frost away from the frozen ground and the hands could see their breath as they sat on their horses in the corral.
It was another day of roping practice and it was getting competitive, as it always did. Y/n watched from her horse as a couple of hands took after the steer. When they caught it, there were jeers from the onlookers at how long it had taken them.
“You call that roping boys?” She shouted, “you’d think they’d have learnt after a few months how to get one.”
One glared at her, “you think you can do better? You’re a barrel racer woman not a fuckin’ roper.”
There was a low whistle from Lloyd, “boy you just made a big mistake.”
“Which reason is that I can’t rope? ‘Cuz I’m a barrel racer or because I’m a woman? Boy, I could rope circles around you with my eyes shut,” y/n responded.
He laughed, “I’d like to see you try.”
“Rip you want to help me prove this son of a bitch wrong?” She asked.
The foreman nodded, “boys you’re about to learn a true lesson in cowboying.”
They lined the horses up on either side of the chute, exchanging a look of determination. With a deep breath, she nodded at Jake to open it up. The gate flew open and the horses took off after the steer at speed. With the ease of someone who’d roped cattle for over a decade, Rip had the horns and pulled the steer left. Y/n swung the lasso over her head and threw it with careful timing to catch the back legs and bring the steer to an easy stop.
“You forget that I been dealing with cattle since I could sit on a horse,” she shouted back to them.
Lloyd chuckled, “she’s more cowboy than any of you motherfuckers could ever hope to be.”
The old hand looked at Ryan next to him whose eyes were trained on the young woman as she furled her rope up neatly and patted her horse’s neck. Lloyd observed the softness in his eyes and the way he subconsciously leaned forward in his saddle.
He leaned over towards Ryan, “you ought to be careful with how you watch her son.”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about Lloyd,” Ryan straightened himself up.
Lloyd shook his head, “I’ve seen that look in enough cowboy’s eyes to know that it ends in heartbreak.”
“Trying my fuckin’ best to keep it out of ‘em,” he answered.
He watched y/n lope her horse around the corral, “you know if you break her heart there’ll be a line to break your face and I’m sure as hell in it.”
“She doesn’t make it easy Lloyd that’s for damn sure,” Ryan muttered, “god damn charm without even trying.”
Lloyd nodded, “neither of you are fuckin’ subtle. Just don’t break her heart.”
Before he could respond, y/n brought her horse to a stop in front of them. Her smile was infectious and Ryan couldn’t help but smile back at her.
“Anytime one of you boys needs a little humbling with a rope you let me know,” Y/n declared, “I’ll take your money here or at the poker table anytime.”
Ryan whispered under his breath, “you are gonna be the fuckin’ end of me.”

A few days later the hands were all gathered around the table with the bunk house heater on full blast. A cold snap had come into the valley and didn’t show any signs of leaving. The usual beer that came with the nightly game of cards had been exchanged for hot drinks and nobody had been brave enough to take their jackets off when they came inside.
An argument was just about to break out between the hands when the door to the bunkhouse swung open to reveal y/n, not that it was immediately obvious it was her underneath all the layers she was wearing. They stopped talking as the door swung shut behind her and watched as she deposited herself with all the clothes she was wearing right in front of the heater. That got them talking again.
“Woman that’s the only thing stopping this entire bunk from getting hypothermia,” Jake exclaimed.
She glared at him, “at least you got heat. Fuckin’ trailer’s battery packed in and there’s no damn heat in there. Colder than the artic.”
“Go back to the house where you belong then,” the new hand responded bitterly.
Y/n shook her head, “boy you’ve been here long enough to know those words shoulda never come out your mouth. Now move over so I can steal this week’s wages from you.”
“Okay but seriously why don’t you move back there where it’s warm?” Jake pressed.
She sighed, “I’ll go back there when he takes back what he did to Kaye. And he can’t ever take that back.”
-/-/-
Later, after taking money from the hands that they didn’t have to give, y/n replaced all the layers she’d shed in the warmth of the bunkhouse and retreated to the cold of her trailer. Ryan had watched with concern as she stepped out into the freezing night but kept his thoughts to himself when he saw the look that Lloyd was giving him. He resigned himself to finishing their game of cards before turning in for the night, aware of the time he needed to be up in the morning. As the bunkhouse fell asleep, Ryan listened to the wind rattling over the roof unsettled by the thought of y/n in the trailer with no heat.
After a couple of hours of tossing restlessly in his bunk, Ryan relented to his concern and got up. Quietly, he put his coat and hat on before leaving the bunk house. His breath was visible in the cold air and he pulled his coat tighter around him against the chill of the wind. A light still on in the barn caught his attention and he went to investigate why it was still on in the middle of the night.
In the barn, nearly all the horses were asleep and safely tucked away from the cold outside. As he headed down the aisle, Ryan looked into the stalls to check on the horses and stopped halfway down where the light was still on. The spotted horse looked up from his hay briefly when Ryan stopped before looking to the back of the stall, as if indicating the cowboy what was there. At the back, partially obscured, was a barely distinguishable figure beneath a pile of blankets he recognised from before.
“Fuck you doing out here?” He asked, surprised to see her there.
Y/n opened her eyes to look at him, “could ask you the same thing, cowboy.”
“Jake snores too much,” he claimed.
She snorted, “you managed just fine for years. Somehow I don’t think that’s it.”
Ryan looked at her through the bars of the stall door as she raised her eyebrows at him expectantly. He sighed at the look on her face and the collection of blankets she was in.
“Was worried about you in the cold,” he relented.
Y/n smiled at him, “Comanche is doing a good job of keeping me warm aren’t you boy.”
“And that’s why I can see you shivering under all those layers from here,” Ryan pointed out.
She rolled her eyes, “honestly I’m fine Ry. Go get some sleep.”
“God you’re killing me here,” he muttered under his breath, “you’re gonna catch your death out here y/n.”
“Honeslty stop worrying about me,” she sighed, “I’m a big girl I can look after myself.”
Ryan opened the stall door and looked at her, “we can stand here and debate that while you continue to get hypothermia or we can skip that and you can come sleep in the bunkhouse.”
“Is there a way this conversation ends with me winning?” Y/n questioned from her place on the floor.
He shook his head, “if you want to be one explaining to Rip, Lloyd, Lee and your father why you didn’t take the opportunity to sleep in a warm bunk house and instead froze out here and therefore need to be taken to hospital for frostbite, be my guest sweetheart.”
“Sweetheart, huh?” She smirked at him.
Ryan rolled his eyes, “of that whole thing that’s what you took away, y/n? Get your ass out of that stall.”
“It’s almost tempting to keep this going to see how you’ll react but I am starting to lose feeling in my toes,” she relented, “but you’re gonna have to pull me off the floor.”
He chuckled but stepped into the stall nonetheless. Y/n held her hand out to him expectantly and he took it, effortlessly pulling her from the floor into him They stood there for a moment, chests pressed against each other and his hand still in her cold one. Even with the numerous blankets around her shoulders, Ryan could still see her shivering. Y/n could feel the warmth from his hand spreading up her arm and gasped at the feeling of it. She didn’t dare break his gaze, staring deep into his blue eyes.
Comanche snorted, dragging them out of their bubble and back to the reality that was the cold Montana night. Ryan dropped her hand and wordlessly exited the stall. Y/n stood there, blinking dumbly before she collected her thoughts and followed him out of the barn.
“And just where exactly in the bunk house are you expecting me to sleep?” She asked as they stood outside the door.
He smiled at her, “honestly for someone so smart you are being incredibly thick right now. Take my bunk and I’ll sleep on the couch.”
She followed him into the dark bunk house and allowed herself to be guided towards his bunk by a hand on her back. Ryan watched as she shed the many blankets from around her and slid into the warmth of his bed. Y/n gestured for him to take her blankets to the couch and he winked at her.
She allowed her eyes to follow his figure through the dark to the couch and watched as he took his boots off, placing his hat on top of them. Once she was satisfied that he was settled, Y/n turned over to stare at the wall. The smell of Ryan encompassed her from all sides and she couldn’t help the way every muscle in her body relaxed when she inhaled. With warmth finally filling her bones, she allowed sleep to overcome her.

Giving Second Chances
Gifs above don't belong to me they belong to their rightful owner
Wattpad request from Silverose365 Reader is a trouble teen the state is having trouble with so after multiple failed foster families the state calls John. The reader accidentally messed up on a job and gets called out until Rip makes a different choice than her previous foster family's.
John and Rip followed Sheriff Haskell out into one of the barns on the ranch. The three stops in the entrance seeing someone peaking their head over one of the hay bails. John slowly walked forward trying to not scare the girl off that looked to be a young teenager reminding him of meeting young Rip. “Hey there, kid. I ain’t gonna hurt you. Do you wanna come talk with us?”
“Where’s the girl from?” Rip crossed his arms looking at Sheriff Haskell.
He responded to John’s right hand. “She’s been bounced from foster home to another. She’s got a bad streak of breaking the law. I got a call saying the foster system was sending her to him until she bolted. Thankfully she ended up where they we’re taking her. Bringing her to John.”
Lifting my gaze up to the older cowboy guy wearing a tan cowboy hat I watched him bend down to her level. “Are you going to send me back to foster care….I don’t do good in that place. They all say I’m too old and reckless.” I had been moved around where I just started running away every time they sent me back in the system.
“I ain’t sending ya back. My name is John Dutton, what’s your name darlin’?” The rancher asked me offering his hand and I allowed him to pull me to stand up with him seeing another guy by the sheriff that was dressed in black with dark hair and hard eyes staring at me.
I nervously responded back to him. “Y/n. My name is Y/n, sir…what are doing now?”
“You come work for me.” John said looking at the man calling his name so I could put it with his face before he left us in the barn together. “Rip, you’re gonna teach her the way I did you.”
It had been a few months since that day and this is the longest that I have ever been in compared to my other foster homes. Placing a dark brown hat on my head I slide my brown boots on heading to the Yellowstone barn. Throwing a saddle on Lioyd’s horse I started tying it on until I heard one of the bunkhouse cowboys coming over to me. I believe Walker was his name. “It looks like a a cowgirl doesn’t know how a saddle goes on a horse.”
“What…what did I do?” I panicked beginning to twist the sterups and the back sinch backwards before I ran my hands through my hair.
Walker came over on his horse. “You put the saddle on backwards kid.”
“Crap, crap.” I mumbled under my breath quickly fixing it until John came over to me seeing that I avoided his gaze mumbling to myself unknown that he could hear me. “How could I put the entire saddle on backwards. That was stupid. I should have known that.”
It wasn’t the first the older rancher had seen her be hard on herself after she made some mistakes or didn’t be s quick as what the cowboys had told her to do something. And she would end up beating herself up over failing. John just hoped the girl saw that she was a good hand like he did. Because she was almost the same way when he found Rip years ago.
Walking through the barn I nodded to my boss Rip Wheeler who was walking with his horse when he noticed me. He climbed up on his horse addressing in my direction. “Y/n, got saddle Mr. Dutton’s horse. You’ll be riding it today with us to learn how to ride.”
Running inside the barn I took the reins of the boss’s horse tying the rope on the side of the wooden fence. Tossing the saddle over the horse I quickly tied it together. Putting me foot in the stirrups up Rip called my name. “Woah you think you’re forgetting something kiddo.” Shifting my gaze down to the ground I hadn’t noticed my hat fell off during the process.
“Ah shit…sorry sir.” Snatching it up I placed it on my head quick climbing back on the horse knowing he didn’t like wasting daylight and I always followed his instructions as fast as he said them.
Rip had me following behind him where I griped the reins in my hands bouncing with the horse watching the others herding the cattle in front of us. Normally he was leading the pack but not today. “Go herd up the ones on the side that get loose. You got that?” He kicked his horse to go when I nodded in understanding.
Running down the valley I followed after one cafe that got loose leading it back to the group. Staying close to the group another one got loose where I grabbed my rope throwing it over it head trying to lead it back but it just picked up sped. I screamed when it managed to pull me off my horse and I fell into the dirt. “No, no,…ah fuck!”
“Woah girl, are you alright?” Lioyd came over on his horse holding the reins of mine since it ran off towards him so he brought my horse back over to me.
Holding my right wrist I winced when I tried to bend it a little. “I think I just tweaked my wrist a bit….I thought I roped it the right way.”
“You roped it around the neck when it should have been around the waist so he wouldn’t run on ya. Climb back on your horse and help us finish this out.” Rip responded sternly beside his older friend.
Scurring to my feet I put one foot in the stirrup using my left hand to support most of my weight than my right. I should have done better, sir.” I apologize when Rip glared at me watching me ride off with Lioyd figuring that she meant well.
Once nightfall had come and everyone had their horses up for the night I didn’t come down to the bunkhouse for dinner since I was staying in the spare room of Rip and Beth’s house. Brushing my hair away from my face I had banded my wrist as best as I could and put everything I had in the duffel bag foster care had given to me. I just needed to wait until everyone went to bed to run rather then wait till morning already knowing what would happen. I had messed up way more than someone my age should. “I’m too old to get adopted….I will be better off just waiting until I’m eighteen. Only two more years left being someone else’s problem..”
“When I said don’t think you deserve this. I meant it literally but I didn’t you’d run from it.” Whipping my head around I gasped through tears seeing Rip was leaning in the doorway of my bedroom.
Croaking through tears I scooted up against the pillow and headband avoiding his gaze. “How did you know I’d be here?”
“Cause you didn’t come down for dinner and you ain’t missed a meal since the day you came here. You want to tell me what’s going on with you?” He presses on with his tone being both stern but went softer when he could hear me lightly crying in front of him.
Hugging my knees to my chest I buried my face into them sobbing even more when I struggle to get the words out already sensing what he was going to say next. “I’m a screw up here, Mr. Wheeler. I can’t do half the jobs you give me right…I don’t have great confidence even when I put in as much effort as I can. You see me exactly like everyone else does…a reckless teenager who won’t make it any longer in getting adopted. Cause I don’t follow directions good….so you’re done with me. You’re going to send me back tomorrow.”
“Where the hell did you get an idea like that, sweetheart?” He blurted out raising his voice in shock.
Peaking over my knees with my hair in my eyes I whispered back to him. “That’s what every family I have been with does. Why would you be any different to me?”
“Because you are the hardest working foster kid I have seen. You’ve got good manners and put in almost more effort than any of those bunkhouse boys do. And you ain’t any reckless than most teenagers are.” He came over and sat beside me on the bed removing his black hat when he went to take something out of his jacket. He unfolded a paper and handed it to me. “You are a darn good kid, Y/n. I am hoping to help you improve your confidence in time being here.”
Scanning my eyes over the paper in my small hands I couldn’t hardly believe it. “You want to adopt me..but I….thank you Rip.” Flinging my arms around his neck he was taken back not used to seeing me giving any kind of emotion like this.
“You’re welcome, darling. But promise you will still work as hard as you would if you weren’t gonna be my kid.” He hugged me briefly until he made me look in his eyes when he barely broke the embrace.
Nodding through happy tears I grinned up at the cowboy and lead hand of John Dutton. “Don’t worry I will..uh dad.”
Footsteps came down the hallway where we both glanced over over shoulders noticing that it was his wife. “You better call me mom and come eat this hamburger helper otherwise you’ll face the bear.”
“Yes ma’am.” I jumped off his lap rushing down the hallway making it to the kitchen table almost shoving food into my mouth overjoyed to actually have a place to call home.
Beth smiled at her husband when he stood by her in the hallway watching you. “She’s our kid now, baby.”
“She’s our second change at one and I gotta say she’s a pretty good one.” He responded looping his hand with hers giving her a gentle and the pair joined you at the dinner table.

Part III
Someone I can't have
The days went by and Ava became more and more connected with the cowboys and especially with the foreman. They didn't have another moment as intimate as that, since Ava no longer showed any interest beyond the conversations and Lee seemed to understand this. She respected him and liked to see that he respected her equally. This fact alone could have made him even more attractive, but something got in the way. He was kind, capable and kissed very well, he was a man. Why didn't she feel attracted to him?
One day the Duttons invented to have a family reunion on top of the horses. She could see Lee, Jamie and another brother she later discovered was Kayce, John's youngest son. There was a boy with him and from the way John looked at that boy, he was his grandson. But there was no sign of Kayce's wife, if he had any. Ava knew there were more children, a woman, but she didn't leave the House much and she certainly wouldn't share that moment with them.
Ava rode on one of the horses and joined the other cowboys, waiting for the Duttons to gather on the horses. Lee was the first and stood next to her at a distance considered far enough not to cause suspicion, but close enough to take care of her. Ava can observe Rip's look on himself, curious and mocking. She knew he understood what was happening between them, but had let her bear her own decisions. And she would thank him for that.
Jamie was the second to climb the horse. That stallion was one of the most docile and calm in the stable, which made it clear how far Jamie was from the farm and the routine of the cowboys. He certainly wasn't a landowner. At least, Jamie didn't get out of balance and managed to guide his horse to where Lee was, keeping his eyes fit, of course, on John Dutton. He helped his grandson to climb on his horse with satisfaction and love, with a look that she had not yet seen launch even to Lee, let alone Jamie.
Jamie, at a rare moment, looked away from John to Ava. It was a quick moment, maybe milliseconds, but she can glimpse a look of sadness. He fixed his gaze on Kayce, calling him to ride, but Ava kept watching him. Once again he had dressed differently from the suit and tie, wore boots, jeans, a white shirt and a cream jacket. However, as much as he dressed like a cowboy, he wasn't one. The well-aligned hair was certainly not from a cowboy. Jamie represented everything that Ava never managed to stay close to, that she never saw in that small town. He represented a class very far from her. Still, her body kept burning whenever she saw him.
Kayce finally joined the rest of the family and everyone headed to the countryside, where they guided the immense buffaloes from one valley to another. They did that from time to time to give the land time to recover while the buffaloes fed on the other part. The land trembled with the noise of the strong footsteps of the animals, both buffaloes and horses and Ava admired the beautiful and raw landscape of Yellowstone. The clean air, green and blue of the sky enchanted her every day as if it were the first time.
"I'll get him going for you." Kayce informed Lee with a playful smile.
"Race you!" Lee took the challenge and rode next to his brother, pairing the speeds in the middle of the herd.
"Men." She laughed alone when she watched the two brothers increase their speed more and more and the buffaloes follow them downhill.
"Think they should hold here." Jamie announced to his father, who ignored him for a few minutes.
"Kayce might be the only man who can outride him." John replied calmly as he watched the two sons ride through his land and then walked away from Jamie taking Tate with him.
The cowboys continued with their work and followed John, but Ava took a few seconds to watch Jamie. He stood there after hearing that from his father, with a sad and disappointed expression. John had said with all the letters that Jamie was not good enough to defeat Lee. And that statement didn't seem to be just about the race. Jamie was destined to be just the family's lawyer forever, at least according to John Dutton.
Before following the same direction as the others, Ava noticed a mucca on the back loins of Jamie's horse and rode to him. Jamie received her with a question mark on his face, after all, their last meeting had not been so friendly for her to want to approach him again.
"There's a mucca on your horse, sir. Don't move. I'm going to remove it." Ava informed respectfully when she got close enough to him. Jamie was reluctant for a moment, as if he didn't believe she was helping him, but gave in with a nod. If that mucca stung the horse, God knew how far he would take Jamie.
"Be quick." Jamie ordered by observing that the herd and the cowboys were distancing themselves. Ava rolled her eyes without him noticing and stretched towards Jamie's horse, pushing the mucca away with the thick gloves.
"Quick enough?" She didn't contain the sarcastic comment. "Oh, sorry...sir."
Jamie shook his head in front of her comment and left towards the others without looking back.
"Thank you, Ava. You were very kind." She replied to herself and rode quickly in the direction of the other cowboys.
After they guided the herd to valley nine, the Duttons took a different turn on the way back. They took a turn and rode towards the river. Ava and some cowboys remained at the top of the hill, waiting for the bosses to fish in the river. They prepared the baits and hoisted them over the water while still riding the horses. They seemed to be having fun and for a moment Ava wished she wasn't a cowgirl and could just had fun in that river.
Lee was the first to catch a fish and handed the fishing rod to Kayce, who gave it to Tate. John Dutton had gone up with the other cowboys to solve landowner problems and left his grandson with his father. Tate was an adorable boy who didn't seem to have much contact with nature, at least not like that.
"I got a fish!" Tate exclaimed excitedly to his father.
Ava observed that Jamie had positioned himself in the center of the river and after a few minutes he hooked a fish as well. Then Jamie got off the horse in a cumsy jump and wrapped the nylon thread of the fishing rod.
"Lee, get my horse. Whoo!" Jamie exulted when he could catch that fish as if he were a child, almost as excited as Tate. "Little late in the year for that!"
"Do they have the habit of coming here?" Ava asked Ryan, one of the cowboys who had been left behind.
"Not in recent years." He responded by watching the family downstairs. "Only Lee still shows up here from time to time."
"You can tell that."
Ava watched Jamie lift his huge fish from the river with a smile of satisfaction. He seemed very proud of his feat, it almost seemed that he had never done something so good that he deserved to be proud of or that someone had never given him due recognition. One thing or another, the fact was that Jamie seemed happy. It was the first time Ava saw him smile, most of the time Jamie was frowing, sad or worried. She could almost see every line of expression of his no longer so young face from above. He raised the fish so high that she thought he wanted to show her his big fish too. She laughed without warning.
"Oh, she's so beautiful." Jamie admired the dead fish in his hands.
The Dutton brothers lit a small bonfire by the river and roasted the two fish they had caught. They were more comfortable at that moment, taking off their jackets and sitting on small tree trunks. The moment seemed so intimate that Ava felt bad for having to watch them. She, more than anyone, knew the value of privacy and they deserved it.
"You're gonna raise him on a reservation?" Lee asked his brother about Tate while eating some of the roasted fish.
"People do it every day." He responded in disdain while taking care of his son's fish.
"Cause they have no choice, Kayce." Jamie entered the conversation after eating another piece of the fish, carrying a small knife between his big hands.
"Yeah, looks like you're ready to eat." Kayce ignored the brothers' comments to pay attention only to her son.
"It's a good day." Tate sentenced by finally tasting his fish.
"Every day, just like this." Jamie reported excitedly, but Kayce didn't buy that.
"Who are you kidding? Bet you haven't fished here in years."
"Only thing we haven't done in years is seeing you, Kayce." Jamie replied looking for another piece of fish meat.
"Well, he told me to leave."
"He told us all to leave." Lee recalled with the most serious voice. "You were just the only one who did."
"It's different. You know that."
"So you're gonna raise him in that meth-filled desert to prove a point." Lee continued to debate with his brother.
"What I'm proving you'll never understand." Kayce explained and the brothers laughed.
"Shit, I miss being young. You wake up in the morning and you just keep right on dreaming, huh?" Lee mocked his younger brother.
"You're a 38-year-old bachelor living in your father's house, working 100-hour week for a nibble of his approval." Kayce countered directly in a heavy argument. "Is that the dream, Lee? Sure as shit it ain't mine."
Ava could see the brothers talking from afar without being able to hear them, but she could notice a certain repulsion and anger in Lee's always cheerful expression. She wonder what they were talking about? Suddenly, Lee caught a pebble and threw it in the direction of Kayce, who deviated before the piece hit his face.
"Hey! Don't throw things at my dad!" Tate screamed anrily and got up to throw, with all his childish strength, the fish he had caught on Lee. The brother fell back more scared than by the force of the object. "Fucker!"
The brothers laughed because of the boy's behavior and verbiate. Even Ava laughed from up there. It was something so unexpected that she couldn't hold back her own laugh even if she didn't know what it was all about. Lee was hit by a little boy. She would definitely make fun of him later.
And there it was again, his smile. It was more surprised than happy, but it was still a beautiful smile. Jamie had big and wide teeth, but crooked. She was sure he could have left them straight if he wanted to, he had money for it. Ava didn't understand why someone who apparently cared so much about appearance didn't care about their own teeth. However, she had to admit that it matched him. A sign of imperfection on that plastic mountain. She liked that, it was fucking charming.
The brothers remained talking for a long time until Tate seemed tired and they decided to return home. The Duttons reunited again with the cowboys and they rode back. Jamie didn't ride as fast as his brothers, not even the cowboys, so he always ended up behind the crowd. And this distance allowed him to see a red handkerchief stuck in one of the branches of the trees. Jamie recognized it and approached to pick it up, keeping it in his jacket pocket.
Upon arriving at the stables, the cowboys collected the Duttons' horses to feed them inside the barn and they all entered the house, at least that's what Ava thought. She took care of the last horse in the stable, combing the mane while he fed, when she saw boots appear at the door. Ava raised her head to contemplate Jamie Dutton.
"Is there a problem, sir?" She asked with a frown, since he had never entered there since she had taken over the job.
"My father cares about his men as much as about animals and the land, Ava. He gives you everything you need to take care of what is his." He began his report by crossing his arms over his chest and staring at her with disdain.
"We are grateful for that, sir."
"Is it really? It doesn't look like it. Where's your handkerchief, Ava?"
She continued to frown at his question and looked for the piece on her neck, but did not find it. Ava widened her eyes and looked under her jacket, in her pockets and even in the cabin, but she couldn't find it. Holy shit! She sighed strongly and closed her eyes for a second trying to remember where she could have left it. Damn, the wind was so strong that day that it could have fallen anywhere.
"I lost it, sir." Ava responded after realizing that lying would not be the best option.
"Good. You were honest." Jamie let out a mini smile and rummaged through his jacket pocket, removing the red scarf. Ava opened her mouth slightly in surprise and closed it immediately. "It was near the river. It looks like you got distracted."
"This is not going to happen again, sir."
Jamie didn't answer by just studying her entirely with those huge and bright blue eyes. She had never been so close to him as to see them like that. They were beautiful, although a little sad. Jamie extended the handkerchief towards her and Ava picked it up, but not before she felt a remnant of his warm skin between her fingers. Sparks exploded from that touch.
"I feel like I know you from somewhere." Jamie resumed talking after the brief shock.
"I don't think so, sir. I would remember, for sure."
"You would?" Jamie asked almost choking and Ava felt a little powerful for making him disassemble like that.
"We are from completely different worlds, sir. If I'm in a place where you are, or that place is poorly frequented or it's from high society." Ava acquired a seductive tone that she had no intention of having. Jamie swallowed it dry over and over again. "I would definitely remember someone like you."
"Someone like me..."
"Yes, someone I can't have."
Ava didn't understand why she did that, in fact, she knew well, she just didn't understand why she couldn't contain herself. He was her boss, just like Lee. If she continued like that, she would lose the respect of cowboys and bosses. But she couldn't help but like everything that Jamie threw at her at that moment, in complete shock, as if he had never heard something like that from someone, especially from a woman. Ava saw him as an imposing man, smart enough to rid the ranch of many problems, but she realized that Jamie didn't seem to have many experiences with women. He seemed naive, disconcerted and fucking surprised. Probably, Jamie had never been desired by a woman before, at least, not one as attractive as Ava.
"IIII, I need to go." He stuttered and swallowed dry several times.
"OK, sir. Thank you for returning the handkerchief to me." Ava maintained the malicious tone and opened an irresistible smile, which Jamie almost disassembled in front of her. "Have a good day, Mr. Dutton."
"Likewise, Ava."
Jamie squeezed the step away from the stable and if she wasn't looking maybe he would have run out of there. Once alone, Ava allowed herself to laugh at the situation and bit her lower lip.
"Did you see that, Leon?" She talked to the horse that squeamed.

A Cowboy’s Love
Yellowstone Ryan x OC!Dutton
Part 5
Series Masterlist
THIS IS PART 6
🤠
Hattie strolled out of the house and made her way to the circle corral, noticing John struggling to ride the Spanish stallion Kayce had given him. Rip stood at the fence, observing, with a hint of amusement in his eyes.
"He's going over!" Rip shouted as the horse suddenly rolled to the ground, taking John down with it.
Hattie approached the corral, calling out to her father, "You alright, Dad?"
John nodded, rising to his feet with a mix of annoyance and frustration in his voice. "Goddamnit, that boy," he exclaimed.
Hattie chuckled softly, shaking her head in amusement. "What a gift," she agreed, watching as John dusted himself off. "You want me to try, daddy?"
John, rubbing his backside, gave Hattie a wry smile. "Lord, no, Princess. don't need you getting hurt. This is a job for a man with rubber bones." John says as he rest his arms on the fence.
Rip's eyes shifted towards Jimmy, and a smirk played at the corner of his lips. "Jimmy, put that down. Come here."
With a hint of reluctance, Jimmy slowly put down what he was holding and shuffled over to Rip. "What is it?" John and Rip gently maneuvered Jimmy onto the horse's back, and as they did, Rip instructed Hattie, "Hattie, go get the duct tape from the barn."
Jimmy's eyes widened in protest as he grasped the implications. "No, come on, Hattie," he pleaded.
Hattie chuckled as she sprinted towards the barn, knowing what was coming next.
As Hattie grasps the tape two raps wrap around her from behind, a surprised laugh escapes her lips. Ryan, in a soft and affectionate tone, murmured, "Mornin," as he planted light kisses on Hattie's neck. Hattie turned around with a charming smile and, making sure no one was nearby, pressed a gentle kiss onto his lips.
Rip's voice sounded across the pasture as he called out, "Hattie, did you find the tape?" Hattie reluctantly pulled away from Ryan, replying to Rip's call, "Yeah, I'm coming!"
Just as Hattie stepped out, Colby appeared, a cheeky smile on his face. "I saw you," he jested, implying that he had witnessed the brief moment of intimacy between Hattie and Ryan.
Colby chuckled, but Ryan silenced him with a playful shove. The two men emerged from the barn and approached John and Rip, who were busy duct-taping Jimmy to the wild stallion.
Hattie laughed heartily as Jimmy's protests filled the air. Her clipped-back hair revealed her radiant features, framing her face in a perfect manner. Ryan couldn't help being captivated by her beauty, his gaze fixated on her.
Jimmy's voice trembled with apprehension as he blurted out, "I don't know anything about horses!" Then, as doubt creeped into his voice, he asked hesitantly, "Should I... should I pet him?"
As Ryan approached Hattie and stood beside her on the fence, their arms brushed together. He spoke up, his voice filled with sarcasm, "I don't think it's going to make much of a difference, Jimmy."
Ryan leans closer towards Hattie, a hint of skepticism in his voice. "You think this is a good idea?" he asked, seeking her opinion on the unfolding scene. Hattie turned to Ryan, her smile widening, and confessed, "Absolutely not."
Ryan chuckled, his hand gently dropping to the small of Hattie's back. John Dutton, ever observant, noticed the interaction between Hattie and Ryan, his gaze narrowing in a disapproving manner. Hattie, feeling her father's watchful eye, shook off Ryan's hand, not wanting to stir up any tension.
Rip handed the reins to Jimmy, giving him clear instructions, "You pull this so you don't flip off, okay? He's gonna hate it for shit, but you do not let go, Jimmy. Got it?"Jimmy protested anxiously, hoping for a chance to discuss the situation, but Rip dismissed the idea. "Good luck, Jimmy!" he exclaimed, giving the horse a firm smack, causing it to buck and bolt wildly.
Hattie couldn't help but laugh at the unfolding scene before her, the comedic image of Jimmy strapped to the wild horse providing some light-hearted amusement. Ryan chuckled wholeheartedly, his laughter filled with a hint of nostalgia as he remarked, "I do not miss being low man!"
Hattie smiled warmly as memories flooded her mind, recalling how Ryan would constantly stay late in the barn on weekends when he was low man, making sure to catch her when she returned home. They would engage in light conversations, where they gradually got to know one another better. It became obvious that Ryan had been captivated by her from the very beginning.
Hattie laughed lightly, her smile broadening as she playfully ribbed him, "I thought you loved it." She then gave him a gentle nudge, reveling in their teasing banter.
John's instincts gnawed at him as he observed the dynamic between Ryan and Hattie. There was a subtle intimacy in their interaction that seemed to go beyond friendship. He couldn't help but feel a pang of worry, sensing that there might be more to their relationship than met the eye.
John knew better than anyone that the wages he paid his workers, including Ryan, weren't enough to provide a comfortable life for Hattie. He was conscious of the financial limitations, and the idea of Hattie relying on someone who worked on the ranch for their livelihood triggered a mix of concern and indignation within him.
John's voice, gruff and authoritative, called out to his daughter. "Hattie." The way he said her name conveyed a stern tone, hinting at a coming lecture or a firm warning. Hattie recognized the familiar authoritative tone of her father's voice, and a sense of guilt washed over her. She looked up and felt a pang of discomfort, as if she was about to receive a tongue lashing. Subconsciously, the gap between her and Ryan widened, creating a subtle barrier between them.
Colby couldn't help but let out a low chuckle, his amusement evident in his tone. "oooo," he taunted, clearly enjoying the unfolding scene before him, particularly the tension between Hattie and John.
Hattie, feeling the weight of John's stern tone, hopped off the fence in resignation. She rolled her eyes, a mix of frustration and annoyance etched across her face at the impending lecture from her father.
Ryan, sensing the growing tension and the need to give Hattie some space to face her father's questioning, reluctantly expressed, "I guess, I'll... just go." He took a step back, maintaining a respectful distance to avoid adding unnecessary fuel to the fire.
John's gaze fixated on Hattie, his paternal instincts kicking in. He turned to his youngest, his voice firm and probing, and asked, "What's going on there?" In his eyes, there was a mix of curiosity and a hint of protectiveness as he wanted to understand the nature of Hattie's interactions with Ryan.
Hattie responded, shaking her head and reassuring her father, "Nothing, daddy. We're just friends." Despite her words, a hint of defensiveness tinged her voice, as if she was trying to conceal something more.
John's skepticism persisted, his gaze unwavering as he studied Hattie's face. "Just friends? Nothing more?" he pressed further, seeking the truth. Hattie nodded, offering a reason for her departure. "Nope. And you know what? I've actually got a marketing meeting, so I'll head up to my room and wait for them to call me." She walked away, attempting to escape the scrutiny of her father's gaze. John, still suspicious, watched her leave, a nagging feeling of skepticism lingering in his mind.
John, still on edge, turned to Rip, raising his eyebrow and silently seeking some insight into the situation. Rip, however, shrugged in response, a gesture that indicated he didn't have any answers to offer either.
John and Rip stood beside the fence, watching Jimmy endure the relentless bucks of the horse. Hattie approached, joining them and leaning against the fence. With a mix of disbelief and concern, she asked, "He's still hasn't puked?" Her eyes fixed on Jimmy, who was still struggling to keep his composure on the wild horse.
Rip nodded, confirming Hattie's observation. "Nope, kid's got a strong stomach." Rip's voice held a mix of admiration and astonishment. He couldn't help but respect Jimmy's resilience for managing to keep himself from vomiting despite the relentless bucking of the horse.
Hattie chuckled, amused by Jimmy's unexpected display of resilience. "He might just be a cowboy after all," she teased with a smile, entertained by the sight of Jimmy holding onto the horse despite the wild bucks.
Hattie's gaze shifted towards the barn as she noticed Ryan walking in to put his horse in the stable after a long day. She couldn't help but glance in his direction.
Hattie took advantage of her father's momentary distraction and quickly slipped away unnoticed. She made her way into the barn, where she found Ryan alone, tending to his horse.
Hattie approached Ryan, the sound of her boot striking the wooden floor breaking the silence. As she spoke, her voice softer than usual, she inquired, "So, I've been wondering something." Her words hung in the air, hinting at a thought that she needed to express.
Ryan paused his task and looked up, his attention drawn to Hattie. He could sense the curiosity in her tone and gave her a nod, signaling that he was listening.
"What's on your mind?" he prompted, intrigued by her words.
"This second date you've got planned. I'd like a little detail."
Ryan smiled, amused by the sudden inquiry. He leaned against the stable door, a playful glint in his eyes. "Ah, my plans for the second date, huh? You want a little preview, do you?"
Hattie shrugs, "I'd like to know if I should wear my boot or heels." She wraps her arm around his neck. Ryan chuckled, enjoying the proximity as Hattie wrapped her arms around his neck. He leaned into her touch, teasingly replying, "I think you look pretty damn good in both."
Ryan, about to lean in for a kiss, was abruptly interrupted by the sound of Colby's voice echoing through the barn. "Whoa!" Colby burst into laughter, clearly amused by the scene he stumbled upon. "How long has this little thing been going on, huh?" he asked with a wide grin, fully enjoying the moment of catching them in an intimate moment.
Hattie, feigning annoyance, pulled away from Ryan and turned to glare at Colby. Her voice was firm as she gave him a stern warning. "Not a damn word, Colby. Got it?"Colby, clearly amused by Hattie's reaction, put his hands up in surrender. "Alright, alright, I'll keep my mouth shut," he agreed, though the amusement in his eyes betrayed his promise.
Hattie heard Ryan's call as she started to walk away, his voice stopping her. His request echoed through the air, "Hattie, wear your heels." She paused for a moment, a hint of a smile playing on her lips. She turned back to face him, her eyes gleaming with anticipation. "Heels it is," she declared before exiting the barn.
Ryan stood in front of his modest jumble of clothes, his brow furrowed in frustration as he struggled with the task of choosing an outfit for their fancy date. He had never visited a high-class restaurant before, and the pressure of making a good impression on Hattie added to his anxiety. He rummaged through his limited options, feeling overwhelmed by the choices that seemed inadequate for such an occasion.
Loyd, observant and supportive, observed Ryan's struggle to choose an appropriate shirt for his date with Hattie. A genuine smile tugged at the corners of Loyd's lips, knowing that Hattie was giving Ryan a chance. He could see how much this date meant to both of them and silently rooted for them.
Loyd, watching Ryan's internal battle to find the right garment, finally chimed in. "All black button up," he suggested, his voice firm but friendly. He knew Ryan was struggling and wanted to help him make a good impression. Ryan looked at Loyd, surprise and relief etched on his face. "Thanks," he managed to say, grateful for the advice. He quickly grabbed the black button-up shirt from the pile of clothes and began to put it on, feeling a bit more confident with Loyd's guidance.
Colby, spotting Ryan putting on his finishing touches, couldn't resist making a joke. "Oh, lookie here, boys!" he called out, a hint of teasing in his tone. The other workers, amused by the situation, chuckled and gave Ryan a friendly nudge.
Ryan chuckled wryly and rolled his eyes as the other wranglers continued with the harmless banter. He took the teasing in stride, knowing it was all in good fun. He adjusted his hat and smirked, "Yeah, yeah, laugh it up, boys. Least I can get a date. Don't wait up." Ryan laughed as he made his way to the door. The wranglers cheered and hooted as Ryan made his way out the door. "Get some!" one yelled out, the others joining in. The playful encouragement echoed through the bunkhouse, the atmosphere filled with laughter and good-hearted ribbing.
Hattie, all dolled up in her fancy outfit, descended the stairs, meeting Beth at the bottom. She checked her reflection one last time, ensuring she looked presentable. She spun around for her sister, seeking approval. "How do I look?" Beth studied Hattie from head to toe and nodded in approval. "Sexy," she chimed with a smirk and a sip of whiskey in her hand. She raised an eyebrow and asked curiously, "Where are you going dressed like that?"
Hattie smiled, her eyes reflecting a mix of excitement and anticipation. "I've got a date," she replied, her voice laced with a hint of thrill. She glanced down the hall worriedly, then looked back at Beth. "Just keep daddy occupied," she added, a hint of concern in her voice. Beth gave Hattie a playful wink and a smirk. "Go ride a cowboy," she teased, her voice filled with playful innuendo. Hattie blushed slightly and shook her head at her sister's suggestive comment.
Hattie stepped outside, the cool evening air hitting her face. She saw Ryan casually leaning against the bunkhouse wall, his figure illuminated by the soft light from the building. A smile tugged at the corners of her lips as she approached him, unable to hide her excitement for the evening ahead. Hattie walked over with a smile. Ryan cleaned up real good. "Excuse me, sir? Have you seen my date?"
Ryan looked up and his breath caught in his throat as he saw Hattie approaching, looking absolutely radiant. He stood for a moment, speechless, taking in her beauty. Then, he found his voice, his eyes sparkling with admiration. "Have I seen your date?" he repeated, a hint of playfulness in his tone.
He feigned seriousness for a moment, scanning her up and down with exaggerated scrutiny. A charming smirk on his lips betrayed his act. "Nope, I'm afraid your date must have gotten lost," he joked, his eyes lingering on her, clearly captivated by her presence.
Ryan chuckled, his eyes never leaving hers. "I guess I'll have to step up and be a placeholder for this missing date of yours," he replied with a hint of charm. "Let's go then. Can't leave a princess waiting too long, now can we?"
Hattie tosses her keys to Ryan. "You're driving."
Hattie smiled as she gracefully slipped into the passenger seat of her car. She settled in, glancing over at Ryan as he walked around to the driver's side. As he got into the car, shutting the door behind him, Hattie spoke up. "So, where to first, oh chauffeur?"
Ryan chuckled and adjusted the seat, getting comfortable behind the wheel. He cast her a sidelong glance, his eyes filled with excitement. "You'll see soon enough." He started the car, the engine purring to life, began the drive off the Yellowstone Ranch.
As the car left the Yellowstone Ranch behind, Ryan and Hattie were enveloped in a comfortable silence. The soft hum of the engine and the sound of the wind outside filled the car. Ryan kept his focus on the road ahead, occasionally stealing glances at Hattie, unable to resist admiring her.
As the city lights came into view, Hattie's eyes widened in pleasant surprise. She looked out the window, taking in the cityscape, and couldn't help but express her surprise. "Impressive," she commented, her eyes flickering to Ryan and back to the city. "Seems like you've got taste, cowboy."
Ryan parked the car and quickly got out, walking over to Hattie's side and opening the door for her. He held out his hand, offering to help her out of the car, a smile on his lips. "Careful now," he said jokingly, keeping his tone light. "We wouldn't want you twisting an ankle in those pretty heels of yours."
Hattie scoffed, "oh please, Ryan. I could still cowgirl in heels. Don't underestimate me." Ryan chuckled at Hattie's confident declaration. "I don't doubt it, darlin'," he replied with a grin. "You can probably run circles around me in those heels. But tonight, I'll be the one watching your step, just in case."
As the evening unfolded, Ryan pulled out all the stops to ensure that Hattie had an unforgettable time on their date. He had splurged on an upscale restaurant, treating her to a delicious meal, fine wine, and mouth-watering dessert. He had spent his entire paycheck on the date, leaving his wallet considerably lighter, but he didn't regret it one bit. Seeing Hattie's smile and enjoyment made the expensive night worth every penny.
Hattie smiled across the small, dimly lit table at Ryan. The soft glow from the flickering candle danced across their faces, casting a warm, romantic ambiance over their intimate setting. Their conversation flowed effortlessly, the hours passing by in what seemed like minutes. They laughed, shared stories, and simply basked in each other's company, enjoying every moment of their special night together.
"Thank you, Ryan." Ryan smiled warmly at Hattie's words, his eyes reflecting the glow of the candlelit table. He reached across, gently taking her hand in his, his touch gentle and tender. "You don't have to thank me, Hattie," he replied, his voice soft and sincere. "Seeing that smile on your face and knowing I could make you happy tonight is all the reward I need."
Hattie's heart ached as a pang of guilt washed over her. She knew she had been holding back, keeping a part of herself closed off from Ryan. She looked down at their intertwined hands and sighed, her voice tinged with remorse. "Ryan, I... I'm sorry."
Ryan, sensing her hesitation, gave her hand a gentle squeeze, his gaze filled with understanding. "You don't have to apologize," he reassured her softly. "I know you've been cautious with your heart. We all have our own pace, and I never wanted to rush you."
Hattie fiddles with her fingers as she speaks, "You know I have it. The brand." Ryan's nod confirmed that he was aware of the brand on Hattie's body. He knew its significance, its implications. He had accepted it without question, never prying into the circumstances that led to Hattie bearing such a painful mark. Ryan's unwavering acceptance spoke volumes about his character, his unwavering devotion to her, and his belief in her worth beyond any brand that could mar her skin. "I never cared, Hattie."
"I like you, Ryan. I like this." Ryan's heart skipped a beat as Hattie's words washed over him. In her simple yet sincere statement, he heard a subtle confession of her genuine feelings for him. He smiled, his gaze filled with a mix of relief and joy. "only took two years."
Ryan chuckled as Hattie nodded, acknowledging her stubbornness about the date. "Two years, huh?" he mused, shaking his head in playful disbelief. "You really made me work for it, didn't you?" "Well, I'm not just going to take any cowboy. I have very particular taste."
Ryan's grin widened at Hattie's words, amused by her statement. He leaned back in his chair, feigning an air of feigned arrogance. "Oh, I see." he replied, his tone laced with teasing. "So you're saying I've got qualities that meet your high standards, then?" "That's exactly what I'm saying."
Ryan chuckled once more, his gaze flickering with a mix of humor and genuine affection. He reached across the table, gently taking Hattie's hand in his. "Well, darlin', I'm glad I could measure up to your picky taste," he said, his voice filled with a hint of playfulness.
"Ms. Dutton," Hattie turned her head towards the voice, her confusion evident in her face. The sight of the well-dressed businessman standing beside her caught her off guard. "Yes?" she replied, her voice tinged with a hint of curiosity. He offered his hand, "Dan Jenkins. I've had the pleasure of meeting your father."
Hattie's eyes widened slightly at the mention of her father, surprise mingling with caution. She took the offered hand, shaking it with a measured politeness. "Ah, Mr. Jenkins," she responded, her voice carefully neutral. "Must've not been the best of pleasures."
The businessman chuckled at Hattie's subtle insinuation, not missing the hint of sarcasm in her tone. He withdrew his hand and adjusted his suit, his eyes sparkling with a mixture of shrewdness and charm. "You're a witty one, Miss Dutton," he said, his voice dripping with an air of familiarity. "Just like your father."
Ryan spoke, "can we help you?" The businessman turned his attention to Ryan, seeming to notice his presence for the first time. He offered Ryan a tight-lipped smile, his eyes sizing him up. "Just having a little chat with Miss Dutton here," he replied, his tone polite yet nonchalant. Ryan glared at Jenkins. His smile drops to a thin line, "Then please, let's end it."
The businessman's smile remained fixed, but the tension in the air thickened. He shifted his gaze between Hattie and Ryan, sensing the growing hostility. "Oh, there's no need to be so hostile," he said, his tone still retaining a polite veneer but with a hint of menace lurking beneath. "I just want to offer you a job." Dan Jenkins pulls out his card and slides it on the table to Hattie. "Paradise Valley could use someone with your marketing experience."
Hattie's expression remained guarded as she eyed the business card. She reached out, her fingers hesitating for a brief moment before picking up the card and studying the details on it.
"Paradise Valley, huh?" she mused, her tone filled with skepticism. It was just the business John Dutton was trying to stop. "Thank you for your consideration, but I'd rather go broke than have you sign my fucking paychecks."
The businessman chuckled darkly as Hattie declined his offer with fervor, her words dripping with disdain. He leaned against the edge of the table, a sardonic smile playing on his lips. "Feisty one, aren't you?" he remarked, amused by her defiant attitude. "I suppose the apple doesn't fall far from the tree."
The businessman studied Ryan for a moment, taking in his protective stance. He straightened up, a dismissive smirk playing on his lips. "I can tell when I'm not wanted," he said, his voice laced with a hint of mockery. "The offer stands." Ryan's gaze lingered on the businessman's retreating figure, his jaw clenching.
"Let's go." Hattie tips her wine glass finishing the drink. She shoves the business card in the lit candle on the table. Ryan nodded, a flicker of satisfaction in his eyes as he watched the business card catch fire and burn up in the candle flame. He rose from his seat, moving to pull out Hattie's chair for her. "Let's get out of here," he agreed, his focus now solely on her.
The pair left the restaurant, the memory of the encounter with Dan Jenkins slowly fading behind them. Ryan led Hattie to the car, opening the passenger door for her as he had done before. Once she was seated, he quickly got in the driver's seat and started the car, eager to leave the place behind.
As Ryan navigated the car through the city streets, Hattie noticed his firm grip on the steering wheel. The veins in his hands stood out, creating a contrast against his strong forearms, and his concentration was evident on his face. There was a rugged attractiveness about him, a masculine confidence that was hard to ignore.
Hattie's mind drifted back to her past with Vince, recalling the extravagant dates and upscale establishments he had taken her to. She had played the part then, but deep down, she had never felt quite right in those settings. With Ryan, however, there was a different sense of authenticity, a feeling that she didn't have to pretend to be someone she wasn't.
"You know, next time," Hattie smiles, "we're going to the fucking bar." Ryan chuckled at Hattie's proposition, a hint of excitement in his eyes. "Is that a promise?" he teased, his voice laced with amused anticipation. "You wanna ditch the fancy dates for some good old-fashioned bar hopping next time? Thought that wasn't your style." Hattie shrugs, she leans over into Ryan's space, "I think you're my style."
Ryan's heart skipped a beat as Hattie closed the distance between them, leaning into his personal space. Her words sent a warm shiver down his spine, and he couldn't help but smile. "Is that right?" he replied, his voice low and filled with genuine affection. "Does that mean I've won you over, darlin'?"
Ryan's smile widened as he felt Hattie's arms wrapping around his arm, her closeness sending another wave of warmth through his body. He glanced at her, taking in the sight of her holding onto him, a sense of contentment washing over him. He kept one hand on the steering wheel, his focus on the road, but his thoughts were consumed by the woman beside him. "Yeah, cowboy. You won me over."

City Boy
(N38R35)
Yellowstone (show) is brought into this and is in Texas not Montana
*my gif not my tiktok*
| Nate's POV |
"I don't see why we have to drive 30 minutes to a bar when there's 100 in Dallas" I asked Chris "I've been there before it's a nice Texas bar" "oh yeah cuz we're fucking cowboys" he laughed killshot too . We walked in loud country music playing, We sat on the Bar I saw two girls one with blonde hair and a long pink flower dress on the other with a cowboy hat and a short yellow short sundress. Beautiful girl in a sun dress. They stood around a table with a few cowboys, the girl in the yellow grabbed the hand of the man in black with the blondes arm around when the upbeat song started.
"take a picture already" Kill said "shut up" I hit his shoulder the bartender put beers in front of us "the one in the pinks taken so be careful" she said. The girl came to the bar next to us "Y/n!" she turned to the older guy "get me one too" Y/n nodded "two coronas please Sydi" she smiled.
| Y/n's POV |
I stood right next to him, he looked me up and down..again. I was not mad at it at all, he was hot and not from here so it was perfect. "for all you two step ladies make it to the dance floor" the DJ said I grabbed my sister Beth's hand "nope" "yes" I laughed and pulled her to the floor. That's Texas By Cody Johnson started playing, Teeter and Laramie joined. "that guy ever gonna stop looking at you?" Beth asked as we danced "he doesn't have to have you seen him?" she smiled.
I went up to the bar again "another please" I smiled "could you put that on my tab?" the guy asked Sydi who nodded with a smile "thank you city boy!" I smiled at him "that a good thing or a bad thing?" "well for a lot its a bad thing but for you it's good" "why's that?" "you don't look very spoiled" he chuckled "definitely not" "what part?" "Stockton" I nod "I moved cattle up by there" "so you're a rancher?" I nod "so so I guess I do more of the professional side..what do you do?" "I'm a MMA fighter, in Dallas for a fight" "I like that," I chuckled taking a sip he gave a wide smile "oh I'm Y/n sorry" I stuck a hand out "Nate" he shook my hand "and who are those two guys looking at us" I pointed he turned and laughed "could say the same about those two tables" I sighed and looked back Ryan waved and raised his brows.
"kill shot and Chris" Nate said "nice to meet y'all" I smiled they nodded. "Rip my sister Beth, Ryan," I went through the list of people "Nate, Chris and killshot" "what are y'all doing here?" Rip asked "a fight" "a fight huh?" He took a sip of his beer Nate nodded "I'm a MMA fighter we all are, me and Chris have a boxing match" "how old are you?" I shook my head"okay he's my brother in law too you don't have to-" "I'm 38" Nate smiled.
"oh baby I love this song" Beth said grabbing Rip "you wanna dance?" I asked he nodded grabbing my hand taking me to the floor. He spins me making me laugh I took his baseball hat off and put it on my head putting my cowgirl hat on him "that looks cute on you" he smiled "that so?" I nodded "you look pretty cute too" I laughed. "you should try that mechanical bull!" I said he shook his head "come on it's easy" I added pulling his arm "you go first then" I rolled my eyes 'what?!" he chuckled "you just want to watch me 'ride' it" he shrugged "maybe" "fine" I smiled taking me boots off.
"g-on n s'how 'em" Teeter said I laughed as I hopped on the bull, I held my hat as it started moving "your tits look great!" a guy I didn't know at all before my brother in law could get to him Nate did punching him straight in the face "shit I said under my breath as a fight started through the whole bar. The bull turned off I hopped off finding Nate grabbing his hand pulling him out of the bar quick "give me your phone quick" he unlocked it and handing it to me I gave my number "Y/N! get in the truck!" Jimmy yelled "text me! bye City boy" I handed him his phone and kissed his cheek before walking away "bye Cowgirl" I smiled as I waved back.

Hi! Love your stories so far and extremely interested in the cowboy/yellowstone idea. Would love to hear any details on it you'd be willing to give :) thanks!
Omg thank you so much, this made my day! (Was I giggling and smiling the whole way home from work? Maybe)
While I don't want to give TOO much away because I *am* still going to write/publish the story, I do want to talk about it because cowboy hat/southern eddie has me in a chokehold.
I've already decided to title it sweet, sweet heart of mine, which is a lyric from the song Stone by Whiskey Myers (i highly recommend giving it a listen, it's a fantastic song)
The general overview of the story is that Hopper and his family own a cattle ranch and Eddie is the sort of foreman of his ranch hands since he's been there since he was a young teen (like Rip). After Phil Cunningham gets divorced Hopper buys a share of his horse breeding business and the Cunninghams (minus Laura) move onto the Hoppers' property. (Eddie is not pleased about this but even though he tries to be all mean and scary, Chrissy is just Too Sweet and he likes her Too Much.)
It'll probably focus a decent amount on Eddie's struggles with letting people in because of both his rough childhood and a really bad heartbreak and on Chrissy's struggles with letting people love her and take care of her because of her own childhood and her mother.
There may be some evil Martin Brenner trying to buy their land, there may be a kidnapping, I haven't decided yet since the plot is still largely in development.
(And of course what would a yellowstone inspired au be without the cowboys doing some wild, crazy, and possibly dangerous or illegal shit?)
#i hope i didn't make it sound boring i promise it isn't#(hopefully)#i just dont want to spoil anything#i am excited about it though#hellcheer#hellcheer fanfic#eddissy#eddissy fanfic#eddie munson#chrissy cunningham#stranger things#stranger things fanfic#my writing#ask answered#just r's thoughts

Chapter 1!!
2641 words in doc so far
I’m face to face with a building that looks like something from an old western movie, minus the cowboys and small, swinging doors. I look up, a worn out wooden sign reading ‘The Ivory.’ I slowly turn the doorknob, pulling the door out before mentally facepalming and pushing it open with my hip. A bell rings as I step in, seeing the assumed small building is a lot bigger on the inside. I see a worn down stage and a couple small circular tables with no one sitting at them. There's a sort of second platform, it containing a couple longer tables with booth seats. There's a decently large bar next to the east wall, two doors and a fuck ton of liqour stored on shelves being behind it. There's also an entrance to a staircase and a restroom(from the looks of it) placed on a small pushed out area of the wall. Behind the bar, there’s a blonde woman and a man with a hat resting over his hair laying his head on the bar. There's a man with dark, curly brown hair sitting in one of the corners that’s not visible when you first walk in, him swirling around a glass of deep golden liquid. I go to move to the bar when a loud voice speaks. “Well hello there! Welcome to The Ivory.” I look over to the source of the accented voice, seeing the same blonde woman from before. She has a partially grown out bob-like haircut with two braided pieces in the front. She has a smooth white eyepatch placed over one of her eyes and a tight white corset top under her dark blue flannel. I nod my head at her. “Hello, um?” She smiles, her top lip tucking into her mouth slightly. “Evlyn, but everyone calls me Lyn.” She sounds like one of the people you’d see in old TV shows, like, what was it called? ‘Yellowstone,’ or ‘Brokeback mountain.’ Similar to a uh, Texan? I think that's the place, Texal or Texas or something. We learned about it in highschool, when people still paid for that kind of shit. I smile back at her. I walk over to the bar, eyeing a stool but deciding to stand. She smiles at me and says something else, but I don’t really listen- instead staring at her teeth. Only her canines are longer and sharp, unlike my teeth. “Hey, what species are you?” She stares at me like I just told her I killed her father. She quickly moves her hands and reaches to her waistband, pulling out a… a pistol, which just so happens to be pointed directly at my forehead. I quickly raise my hands and step back, tripping slightly over a raised piece of the floor. She doesn’t flinch. I don’t move. “Who’s asking?” Her eyes- er, eye- seems to darken, the colour seeming to pool into a blue darker than the deep ocean. I open and close my mouth a couple times, but I can’t seem to get any words out of my mouth. “I- uh- W-what?” She slowly repeats herself, cocking the gun. “Who. Is. Askin’.” I feel my throat partially close up, my breathing getting way too fast and shallow. Safe to say, this doesn’t seem to quell her suspicions. The man leaning on the bar, who I honestly assumed to be either comatose or dead, raises his head and looks over- scanning me up and down. He goes to reach for his waistband too, but looks at my face, moving his hand back to his glass and taking a drink. “I don’t think he’s a hunter, Lyn.” I look over at him quickly, seeing bright yellow eyes. I look away before I catch any details of his expression or even his features, really. I look at Evlyn, smiling awkwardly. She looks me up and down. “Show me your shoulder.” I decide to not question the one aiming a gun at my skull, yanking my sweater and shirt down to show her my right shoulder. “Other one too.” I nod and pull the other side of my shirt down, hearing a small ripping noise come from the fabric. Oops. Lyn narrows her eyes at me, uncocking the pistol. I let out a breath that I can’t say I didn’t realise I was holding, slowly lowering my hands. She slowly locks her gun and tucks it back into her waistband, smiling at me. “Sorry ‘bout that, blondie.” I feel myself gaping and force my mouth shut, lowering and unfurrowing my eyebrows with a small shake of my head.
I swallow down the lump in my throat, nodding slightly. “It’s okay..?” She puts the grin from earlier back on, going back to cleaning out a glass. I can feel that my expression is still one of pure confusion and fear, but I can’t be bothered to try and fix it. “We don’t get many new faces ‘round here. What’re you in Malridge for?” Malridge. Okay, Not quite helpful, but at least I know where I am. “I have no idea” She chuckles heartily. “Do any of us?” I shrug and that seems to entertain her, her grin getting even wider. “Well, welcome. As you know,” she motions to herself, “I’m Evlyn, or Lyn. The broody guy in the corner,” she points to the man nursing the golden drink. “Is my husband, Arrin. The corpse-looking motherfucker on my CLEAN bar top is Dirt.” She shoots him a look as I raise an eyebrow. “I’m, uh, Marshal but- did you just say his name was …Dirt?” She laughs and nods, and ‘Dirt’ glares at her. “It’s what we call him. No one calls him his real name, an’ only 3 people in town know it. I’m one of ‘em.” She grins, grabbing Dirt’s cheeks. He shakes her off, his mouth settling into a grim line. I look at him, taking in his face. He has darker, tanned skin and long-ish, slightly curly brown hair. Two large black wings are attached to his back, and I’ll have to look up what bird they remind me of later. He's wearing a tight black tank top, and a beaten-up heavy jacket. One of the sleeves of the jacket is cut off just under where the elbow would be, and no arm is there. He has a scarred face, two scars immediately noticeable- a long, slightly thin one stretching over the right side of his mouth and a shorter, thicker one sprawled under his left eye. His nose looks as if it's been broken and set back incorrectly. He has a cut on his jaw, a long and fresh scratch: one from a dog or something, it looks like. He also has a seemingly new bruise on his cheekbone. It's small, but it's there. “Dirt is a suitable nickname, hey?” The man in the corner speaks up. Dirt flips him off and Arrin smiles at me. “I’m assuming Lyn already introduced me.” I nod. Arrin’s more human looking than the other people in the saloon, his main discerning feature being a large, chaotic scar over his left eye. He has sharp teeth, they look like a dogs. Based on that and his less-than-typical amount of hair, I assume he’s some kind of werewolf. He has dark coffee coloured skin and a rough, stubbly, black …beard? Let’s just call it facial hair. He walks over to the bar, walking up behind it and kissing Lyn’s cheek. She smiles and waves him off, and Dirt doesn’t bat an eye. Arrin leans on the bar slightly, starting to playfully insult Dirt. Dirt playfully insults him back, not in nearly as much of a joking tone but that seems to be what he's doing. The other two seem to know that he's just kidding. Lyn ignores their banter and walks over to me, placing a strong hand on my shoulder. “There’s a motel two buildings over. The prices are a little steep, but it’s a roof and a bed,” she smiles and leans in. “And if you really can’t afford it, I have a spare room; I like you, so you can use it if you want.” I smile at her and thank her, walking outside the saloon.
When I walk out and go to look around for the motel, I feel a tug on my sleeve. I turn around to see a girl, probably about 10? “Hiya mister, do you have a phone?” I raise my eyebrows in suprise and swuat down to the girls level, smiling at her in the most welcoming way I can. “I’m sorry, but I don’t. Why are you out here so late at night?” She narrows her eyes at me. “I’m not gonna tell a random man I just met that.” I nod and smile, laughing a bit to myself. “Fair enough. Hey, there's this lady that lives in this town,” I point to The Ivory. “Just in that building there. Is it okay if I walk you into there?” I lower my voice a bit. “And if it makes you feel any better, I’m lost too.” She smiles at me and nods. “Just so you know, I do carry a knife- so don’t try anything.” I nod, smiling slightly. Does everyone in this town carry weapons? I walk with her, opening the door and letting her inside. Lyn smiles at me and then sees the girl, her face turning from welcoming to pure shock. “Abby? Why the… heck are you out here, darling?” Abby smiles at Lyn, basically jumping with joy. “Aunty Lyn!” I feel my eyebrows knit in confusion. I really need to get home, somewhere away from this weird ass town. I see Arrin and Dirt stop arguing, Dirt immediately rushing over. He grabs Abby by her shoulders, kneeling down to her level. “Abigail, why are you here? Are you okay? Did something happen?” She smiles at him and flicks his nose. He blinks at her. “Dad, stop worrying. You just weren’t home in time and I wanted to find you.” I stare at the scene unfolding, not believing my ears. Dad? Dirt looked barely a year or so older than me, definitely not old enough to have a kid older than what- 4? I watch as Dirt panickedly checks his phone, the time projecting as 12:38. He stares at Abigail. “Duckling, It’s only 8 minutes past when I’m usually home on Thursdays. Why are you still awake? Why would you come out into the streets?” He sounds panicked, but I think he comes off as angry from Abby’s POV. “I-I’m sorry, I was just worried…” Dirt sighs exasperatedly, kissing Abigail's forehead. “I’m not angry, just… scared. The streets are dangerous at night, Duckling.” She nods, Lyn pacing around the pair slightly. I don’t know what I’m meant to do, so I simply stand there. Arrin seems to have the same idea. “I’m sorry dad, I just- you’re never home late unless you texted me first.” He sighs, hugging her. “I’m sorry Abs, I lost track of time.” She hugs back. She smiles when he pulls away. “This guy lost, too.” He furrows her eyebrows. “Lost what?” I look at Dirt, grimacing slightly. “No, he hasn’t lost anything, he is lost. Or, that’s what he told me to comfort me when I said he was a strange man that I didn’t trust.” I look away from the people in front of me quickly. Lyn speaks up next. “Lost? Why didn’t you tell us?” I smile awkwardly. “Because I don’t really think I… realised I probably should?” Dirt slightly narrows his eyes at Lyn. “I mean, you did point a gun at him not 30 minutes ago.” She nods slightly, continuing. “Where are you from, Marshal?” I try to smile, but it feels more like a grimace- and honestly, it probably looks like one too. I go to say what town I’m from, but nothing comes out. I open and close my mouth a couple times before speaking. “I… don’t know?” Everyone besides Abby looks at me then. I feel more sweat gather at my hairline. Lyn starts speaking when a familiar face gets projected on to the TV. “Marshal Patel, 27, is wanted by the world government for 1st Degree Murder. The man seems to have disappeared with no evidence that he’d ever been in Onanbi. If you have any tips, please call the number displayed below.” Now everyone, including Abby, is staring right at me. Staring into me, more like. How the fuck did I end up here.

A Dutton In Love
Requested? Nope
Summary: Rip has been meaner than usual lately. Rip Wheeler x fem!reader fluff
Warnings: mentioned female masturbation, cursing, that's it.
"C'mon Beast" I say as I lead my horse out of the stable. His black coat shining in the Montana sun, a cool breeze ever present. Standing in the left stirrup I mount my horse. "Where you headed today little lady?" Lloyd asks, resting against the gate. "Lloyd I ain't no lady, and I'm taking Beast to a trip into town, he could use the long walk.". I pat the left side of his neck, Lloyd looks up at me. "Alrighty. Well Rip wanted me to let you know that you'll be accompanying him and Kayce to the cattle auction tonight.". "Well Lloyd, congrats on the new job. I didnt know you were a messenger now. Please be so kind and tell them I'll be back before we leave.". He chuckles and walks away, shaking his head.
Its dusk as we arrive back at the Yellowstone. Beast is back in the stable, happily munching carrots that Tate is feeding him. "How was your trip to town Aunt (Y/n)?" Tate asks, giggling as Beast nibbles his palm. "Well lil buck, I gotcha somethin.". I pull out a pair of brand new leather gloves, embroidered with his initials. "Since I know you lost yours in the crik last week. Look, T.D. Now dont go losin em now, those cost me a pretty penny." He hugs me tight. "Thank you, I promise I won't lose them. I love you.". I'm takin aback but chuckle. "I love you too little buck". He runs off shouting for his dad, who turns the corner and they collide. "Woah hey, where's the fire son?" He proudly shoves the yellow gloves in his dad's face. "Look what Aunt (Y/n) got me! And they're emboideld!" "I think you mean embroidered son. Those are awesome." Kayce looks at me, a big smile one his face. Happy that at least one sibling of his loves his soon they should. "Thank you (n/n)" he mouths I tip my cowboy hat to him. "I'ma go shower 'fore we leave Kace." He just nods and leads Tate to the lodge.
The cold water hits my back, almost done finishing my shower. Being a hand on a ranch makes you sweat and heat up no matter how cold Montana can get. "(Y/n) you in here?". I hear a voice call out. Poking my head out, I see Rip standing in front of the sinks. "You almost done?" He huffs out, visibly annoyed. I ignore him and turn the water off. I open the curtain, letting him see me naked. The water droplets rolling down my body. Rip just clicks his tongue then leaves as I'm wrapping my towel around me.
Kayce is driving, Rip is in the passenger seat, and I'm in the back. Whispering to the songs on the radio. "Can you shut the fuck up?" Rip snaps at me unexpectedly. "Excuse me? No offense Mr. Wheeler, but if you're so god damn annoyed by me, why did YOU hire me? You need to pull that wild hair out your ass and talk to me like a god damn adult and not just be a dick to me. Cause I sure as hell dont know what I've done to piss you off." He just scoffs and looks out the window the rest of the trip. Kayce shoots me a bewildered look through the rearview mirror, I shrug in return. The air and the people in the truck are tense the rest of the way. And even after we get back to the ranch.
A few days have passed, Lloyd keeps trying to get me to talk to Rip. Apparently since my "blow up", he's been choppin at his bit and gettin on everyone's ass for little things. "And I mean shit, he looked damn near ready to punch Jimmy after he dropped the bottle of wound dust.". Ryan just looks at me. "What did you say?". Teeter repeats it all back to him slowly and sarcastically. "Nobody hear can understand yall. You're southerners, we're not." Ryan replies emphatically. "She's saying that I've been a dick to everyone and I'm sorry" Rip says from the doorway, startling us who had out backs to him. "Can I speak to (Y/n) alone?" People started to get out of their chairs, grumbling. Instead I stood up and headed out the front door of the bunkhouse. Rip catches up with me quickly, damn his long legs. "C'mon. We're going to my room to speak.".
"Sit. Explain." I tell him and point to the bed. I start undressing and changing into sleep clothes. "First of all, I'm sorry." He trails off, but I dont want him to have time to think of an excuse. "Sorry about?". I egg on. "I'm sorry for being a massive jerk. I saw something I shouldn't have and its been bothering me.". I sit next to him, big baggy shirt and short shorts. "Saw somethin you shouldn't've? Rip, you're one guy I know that's seen everythin. To say you've seen somethin you shouldn't've scares me I'm gonna be honest.". He just chuckles, he takes his cowboy hat and jacket off, setting them on an adjacent rocking chair. He sits facing me. "Look. What I'm about to tell you is serious, and I hope you don't look at me differently. It was an accident, I promise." "Just spit it out Rip, you're legit scarin me right now.". I laugh nervously. "2 weeks ago I was coming up the stairs, it was late but John needed to talk to Kayce and I. Well...as I'm passing your room, I decided to check up on you. See if you were doin alright. And well what I saw was...you...naked, with a vibrator and well...you- you uh..were saying my name. A lot-" "okay! I get it." I interrupted. A couple beats of silence passed. I finally mustered up the courage to ask him what I've been wanting to since I watched him leave my doorway two weeks ago. "I know. I saw you leave. I was hoping you didnt see anything. Kinda...ruined my orgasm" I huffed out awkwardly but he just laughed. "Did you like what you saw?" I asked, hiding my stupidly red face. I felt his hand grasp my chin lightly. "Look at me darlin'. You are the most beautiful creature on this god forsaken earth I have ever seen. Clothes on or not." His smile spread ear to ear. It was beautiful. Watching this man who's life hasn't spared mercy to was like watching the sunset from the biggest mountain on the ranch. Breathtaking. We leaned in for a kiss but someone clearing their throat stopped us. "Uuuugh, WHAT?-- Oh. Hi dad." I get up to go talk to him. "Hey baby girl, how'd the auction go today?" "It was good, uhm. We're talking about something important, can what you have to talk about wait till tomorrow?" I ask, hoping he'd say yes it could wait and take my time and run away into the sunset with the man I've loved since I first set eyes on him. "I've gotta talk to Rip, honey. But I'll return him as soon as we're done." Dad smiles at me but eyes say that he's sorry. "Okay, that's alright.". Rip kisses my head as he walks past me. "I'll be back for my things darlin, don't you worry.".

Cowboy Up - Pt.8
Enjoy, touch angsty. I'm also opening up to requests for drabbles/headcanons of moments pre-show/outside show canon for this pairing because quite frankly i'm obsessed with them (and Ian Bohen i'm in love with that man).
Pairing: Ryan (Yellowstone) x Dutton!reader
WC: 1483
Previous part - Next part
---
Y/n exited the house with coffee in hand to see the small army John had amassed to deal with the cattle. From the porch steps, she watched as who she assumed was a new hand talked to Rip who clearly didn’t think much of him. Poor lad clearly didn’t have a clue what he was supposed to be doing on a ranch. Y/n decided he was going to need her help to survive at the Yellowstone.
John approached her, “you’re gonna go with Rip up the mountain.”
“The fuck I am. I’m going to the reservation,” she argued.
He shook his head, “I’m not about to let you be that close to it all y/n. This is the compromise. You help with the river or you stay here. This is one thing that isn’t up for discussion.”
“Fine.”
She turned on her heel to one of the horse trailers where she took the rope of a horse from Colby to load up. As she turned to leave, she was faced by Ryan who had bought his horse on. Y/n let out a deep sigh upon seeing him, the reality of the potential danger to them in front of her in the form of his ‘livestock agent’ vest.
Y/n leant against the metal, “I fuckin’ hate this Ry.”
“I know you do sweetheart,” he whispered.
They spent a quiet moment just existing in each others presence. Ryan wrapped his arms around her middle, pulling her body against hers and pressed a small kiss to the top of her head. Y/n allowed herself to melt into his chest, and inhale the smell of his cologne mixed in with that of the horses surrounding them.
“You gotta promise to be fuckin’ careful out there. I need you to come back to me when today is done,” she said.
Ryan nodded, “I promise to be careful, sweetheart. You’re all the motivation I need to be safe.”
“I love you,” y/n whispered into the trailer.
Before he got a chance to reply, Lee interrupted them, “come on lovebirds we’ve got cattle to take back and a mountain to blow up.”
“You’ve got shit timing,” she whisper-shouted at her brother as they left, “we were having a moment.”
Lee laughed, “life is full of moments y/n, if you spend too long in one another will pass you by.”
Y/n walked past the line of trucks the hands were climbing into and headed towards where Rip had Comanche waiting for her. She took her horse and gracefully swung up into the saddle, settling in for the long ride ahead of them. They started off down the drive and y/n observed how uncomfortable the new hand looked on his horse. Yeah he was gonna need all the help she could give him. The convoy departed past them and y/n waved to her brothers in the first truck. As the last truck drove past, Ryan looked out the window to see her blow him a kiss to which he smiled back.
-/-/-
Half an hour into their trek, y/n felt like the nerves were going to eat her alive. Rip was leading them up the trail with no indication he wanted to talk and the hand looked far too scared to say anything so she took it upon herself to fill the silence.
“What’s your name?” Y/n asked.
The hand startled at her voice, “uh it’s Jimmy.”
“Nice to meet you Jimmy. I’m y/n and I reckon you’re gonna need my help here,” she explained, “Rip’s a stubborn son of a bitch who thinks affection’ll kill ya and most of the others stopped maturing when they were 10 so I’m your best chance.”
“Thanks I guess?” He wasn’t sure what to make of the girl behind him.
Rip stopped her from rambling on, “what she’s conveniently missing out of her introduction is that she’s a Dutton so you’d do well to keep away from her.”
“Call off the threats Rip I know you won’t do anything to him,” y/n countered, “guy that uncomfortable on a horse didn’t apply for the job.”
Jimmy turned red at her statement, “listen I ain’t proud of what I done but-”
“Relax I don’t care what you did nor do I care to understand the decisions my father makes. I’m just here to cowboy and ensure the place doesn’t go to shit before I get a chance to inherit it,” she explained.
Silence elapsed around the group and Rip took the opportunity to check on the youngest Dutton. He turned around to see that she was clearly off in her own world, reins loose allowing Comanche to just follow the horse in front of him. Her fingers were tapping out a rhythm on her saddle’s horn and Rip got the feeling her leg would be bouncing if she had her feet on the ground.
When they reached the top of the mountain they got to work setting up the charges to change the course of the river and fuck over the development next door. Rip headed over to where Lucy was busy connecting up the wires.
“They’re gonna be safe y’know,” he stated, “on both sides of the fence.”
Jimmy looked up from the river, “is this legal?”
“You’re a criminal, what do you care?” Rip questioned.
The hand sighed, “thought the Yellowstone was gonna keep me out of trouble.”
“Getting in trouble’s the only skill you got,” Rip pointed out.
Y/n added, “difference is now you ain’t gonna get caught.”
Once everything had been set, they mounted up and headed back down the mountain. This time y/n took the lead in an attempt to keep her mind off what would be going down on the reservation at that time.
-/-/-
Nobody on the ranch had slept since they had returned from the reservation without Lee. Her father had turned the house into some sort of command centre trying to locate her brother and y/n was sat on the porch steps watching the commotion having lost count of the amount of coffee she’d drank since coming back. John and Jamie were talking around her but the words weren’t sinking into her brain. Suddenly her father took off from the house. Y/n shot up from the step and followed Jamie’s line of sight to where Kayce was walking Lee’s horse towards the ranch with a body slung in front of the saddle.
She gasped and felt the fear that had been keeping her going leave her body. Her legs buckled, falling to her knees next the steps. Jamie rushed to wrap his arms around his sister, letting her cry into his chest. They waited in silence for Kayce to dismount the horse before Jamie let go of her to launch herself into her twin’s arms. Y/n kept herself attached at the hip with Kayce whilst Jamie tried to get out of him what had happened but he wasn’t willing to give up any information.
At some point sat on the sofa she finally spoke, “someone needs to call Monica.”
“I’ll take Kayce back in the helicopter now. No use rehashing this on no sleep,” John explained, “stop running on coffee and sleep.”
After the helicopter had departed, y/n made her way down the drive towards the bunkhouse. The door banged open and the hands looked up. The place was quiet, there was no insults being thrown around, and they were all there which was unusual for that time of day meaning Rip had given them the day off. Ryan and Colby were on one of the sofas half-heartedly playing solitaire and Lloyd was sat reading at the table.
Wordlessly, Ryan put down his cards and opened his arms for his girlfriend. She made a beeline for him before burying herself in the hoodie he was wearing. He wrapped his arms tightly around her, kissing her hair safely.
“I love you,” Ryan whispered to her.
None of the hands made comment about the situation and Lucy fell asleep like that with tears drying on her cheeks.

After the funeral, y/n split from the rest of the group heading to the main house and instead made her way down to the barn in need of some emotional support from Comanche. She found her father in one of the stalls with the stallion Kayce had been working with.
“What’s he doing here?” She asked.
John looked up at her, “think it’s your brother’s way of apologising.”
“How did it all go so wrong dad?” Y/n pondered.
He sighed, “I have no idea but this isn’t the end of it.”
“I’m still not being part of some fucked up power game dad and you don’t get to use me in some twisted politics but whatever it takes to get justice for Lee I’m onboard with,” she explained, “when we’ve got that we’ll talk again.”
John smiled at his daughter, “that’s good enough for me.”

Don’t You Have Anything Better To Do
Wattpad request mackleann Rip and reader get married and they get teased by the bunkhouse guys
Rip and I stood underneath the Yellowstone barn door where he had his hands on my waist with my arms around his neck while we shared our first kiss as husband and wife. Breaking the kiss I tilted my head towards the bunkhouse hearing the bunkhouse roaring with laughter. “What do you think those boys are doing at four in the morning?”
“Nothing good I imagine. This is when they act like dumbasses. Let’s go investigate.” He nodded looping his arm through mine while we walked towards the bunkhouse.
Opening the door we walked in on the cowboys and Jamie drinking and spinning on a baseball bat. Colby stopped spinning before he ran jumping away from the rope but Jake wrapped the rope around his foot making him land on the floor. “Don’t you boys need to be sleeping?” I put my hands on my hip eyeing the group.
“There’s the newlywed Wheelers. Care for a beer Y/n Wheeler?” Ryan raises up his beer reaching into the fridge holding one out for me.
Rip tilted his head at his offer when Jimmy asked. “Wait what time is it?”
“Jimmy it’s four in the fucking morning. Now what are you dumb asses doing?” My husband asked when I removed my arm from his taking the beer from Ryan and doing almost half of it.
Jake eyed me swinging the rope in my direction. “So are we expecting a mini Rip in the future?”
“Oh I don’t know about that. My daddy would be happy to have more grand babies I know that for a fact.” Shrugging my shoulders I noticed the x mark on the floor, kicking it with the tip of my boot. “What exactly were y’all doing with this?”
“Ya stand on the x and spin around three times. Then run and we try and rope your ass down on the ground. Do you want to give it a go?” Walker suggested nudging me as he walked past me to get another beer.
Rip crossed his arms over his chest sending me a light concerned look that only I would see in his brown eyes. “Even though she’d kick all your asses. I don’t think Y/n has to prove anything to you.”
“Fine let’s change the subject then. Do you ride her like a bull?” Ryan teased Rip where I swore he might get into a fight with him over it.
Rip stomped up until I got in between the pair trying to ignore the fact that they were asking about our romantic envolvment before we had been married. “You want me to prove something fine I will. Just warning ya my sister says she’s a beer. Well I’m a buffalo.”
“Woah I think we found out who the real boss is behind closed doors.” Colby smirked leaning back in one of the chairs at the round table.
Downing the rest of my beer I threw it on the ground taking the bat calling out to Rip. “Rip, let’s prove them wrong right. I bet that I can do this hood and you can rope me with your eyes closed.”
“Y/n, let’s not entertain the idiots.” Rip shook his head no not wanting me to get hurt.
Lloyd sat his hat down on the table. “That’s something I’d rather like to see.”
“Look we can either watch you herd her like cattle or we can talk about you sleeping with her.” Jake shrugs handing my husband the rope moving out of the way.
Rip moved his gaze back toward his wife seeing her give him those puppy dog eyes that he could never say no too. He walked forward over to his bosses daughter who was now his wife tuckings hair behind her ear. “Fine but if you get hurt I’m making them go to clean the barn after this from top to bottom.”
“I’ll be fine, baby…Ryan hold this.” Removing my light brown hat from my head tossing it at his face he almost dropped it onto the floor and fell out of his chair.
Placing my hands around the handle of the baseball bat I did three spins before I drew my head up and started running in the opposite direction of my husband. Rip followed the rules and shut his eyes slowly swinging the rope around giving me time to get some distance away from me. He then throws the rope and it tightened around my waist yet instead of getting thrown to the ground I squealed when he spun me back into his arms. “Woah hey there cowboy.”
“What do you say we leave these boys and finish this night alone together.” Rip smiled down at me with him holding me against his chest but he had me dipped down to the floor slightly.
Gripping the fabric of his black jacket I whispered up at him pouring my heart into his deep brown eyes. “Hmm some beer and time with you is the best ending to this night I could ask for.”
Rip and I started learning forward about to kiss until Jimmy asked nervously. “Are you two going to kiss…do we need to like give you the room or something?”
“Don’t you have anything better to do!” Rip growled tugging me up to stand on my feet laying my head on his chest.
Lloyd put his hands behind his head smiling. “Not at the moment boss.”
“Hey let’s go. I’ll take that.” Leading Rip by the hand that was intertwined with mine I reached over snatching my hat back from Ryan’s hands. Placing it on my head we exited the bunkhouse hearing the boys making kissing sounds when we shut the door in their faces.
Rip finally kisses me on the lips again when I pressed my body against his, gripping his shoulders underneath my fingertips. “I think it’s time we go to bed, Mrs. Wheeler.”
“You were right that they are dumb asses. But I am tired now so let’s go to sleep, Mr. Wheeler.” Sending him a grin I squeezed his hand in mine with us walking back to the house that my father has given him.

You Belong With Me - Jamie Dutton
Pairing: Jamie Dutton x OC (Ava North)
Summary: Ava only wanted one thing: to be a horse tamer. And when she had the chance, she took it. Ava became the new horse tamer of Yellowstone, a totally different ranch from the others she met, either because of its immensity or because of family problems. Ava thought her problems were big, but when she met the Dutton family that thought dies. However, there is a Dutton who is a point out of the curve, a lawyer mistreated by the problems and by his own family. Meeting Jamie Dutton may not have been the work of chance, after all one broken understands the other.
Warnings: Subtle sexual innuendos, brief language, alcohol consumption, angst, smut, fluffy.
A place for women
"The ranch isn't a place for women, Ava." Rip said sounding more protective than she had ever seen. "There are only animals there."
"Great, I love animals," she replied with determination after taking a sip of her beer.
"Don't tell me you want to wash a cow's ass? That's what a cowboy does...and many other things."
"No, I don't want that. You know what my talent is, Rip." She reminded him with a confident smile of her glory days in the rodeos.
"Oh, of course. The 'horse enchanter'. I remember her." He disdained with a smile and drank a sip of beer straight from the bottle. "You earned much more at the rodeos than you would at the ranch."
"You know why I done competitions, I'm not going to get into this subject again." She protested almost angry and asked for another drink.
Ava looked around. It was almost three in the morning and the bar was empty, there were only the two of them there exchanging favors as they always did. Rip sent it, she did it and he paid for it. It was always good money, but she was tired of infiltrating, selling her body to get information and pretending to be who she wasn't. The competitions gave her a lot of fame and exposure, the work of private detective locked her in lies. Ava wanted an escape from all that, she wanted to live in a place where she could be herself. Yellowstone looked like one of those places.
"Are you going to help me or not?" Ava asked incisively, but Rip continued in his passive state, drinking the beer as if it were the most expensive wine in the world. "Damn, we've known each other for I don't know how many fucking years and I've never asked you for anything, Rip. This should help you understand how much this matters to me."
"I know it's important to you...and it's precisely because we've known each other for so long that I'm afraid to put you in there." He sighed heavily and ran away from her eyes with every word. "You know the...things I've been doing, damn it. You know that. In there you're not a simple cowboy or horse tamer, you're their property. His property."
"You never complained about what you had to do for the Dutton. This means that you agree with what should have been done. You are part of them now or of his property. And if he protects his own property so well and I will be a part of it, then there is no other place in the world safer than there."
Rip shook his head in denial and fixed his dark and deep eyes on hers. There was pain, anger and sadness in them, something not so different from Ava's. That's what connected them and continued to keep their friendship so alive.
"I'm not going to convince you otherwise, am I?" He asked with a weak smile and she denied it with her head. He sighed strongly and drank two more big sips of his beer. "OK. I can do it for you...but there's something you need to know before you get in."
"I'm all ears." Ava moved around on the stool, turning totally to her friend, who had suddenly taken a very serious tone.
"We all value loyalty very much. John values that for real. We do what he asks without questioning... out here you had the opportunity to change branches as many times as you needed, but not there. Once you entered the ranch, you don't leave there anymore, do you understand?" Rip's eyes shone in a kind of devotion mixed with terror and Ava paid attention at every word, internalizing that for good. She nodded in agreement. "Are you sure you still want to do that?"
"More than anything in my life." Ava opened a moved smile." It will be good for me, Rip, you know that. They were good for you. Look at you! All full of authority, toughness and giving me orders. What can be so bad about that ranch that I haven't seen in my life?"
He didn't answer that, he just looked at her again in depth, which made her feel as small as she was when they met a few months before the tragedy with his family. Rip had been her protector as a child and, even though Ava was already on the verge of thirty-five, he still protected her as if she were that frightened and lost girl from Miles City. Well, Ava was no longer like that, she could take down anyone who approached her with ulterior motives, but a part of her liked Rip's protection, as much as it often irritated her.
"I'm going to be your boss." He informed in a mocking tone after the brief pause.
"Let's see for how long." Ava returned in challenge and the two laughed.
"Be in the shed in an hour." He announced and Ava raised an eyebrow. Rip laughed. "I'm not going to make it easy for you just because we're friends. You'll be like any other beginner."
"I didn't expect anything different from you." Ava stroked his shoulder with one hand, pulling his attention out of the bottle to her. "Thank you for that."
"Let's drink one more as friends."

2 - Dutton Argument
Part 3
I Don't Wanna Kiss Tomorrow Goodbye
@stellarosedutton
@hcwthewestwaswcn Co author
Rip's Pov
"Rip Wheeler I need to speak with you right now!" Beth's voice booms through the ranch as the boys move cattle into the pens to get the brand engraved on them. Whipping my head in her direction she's stomping up to me in a loose dress and black heels. "What do you need Beth?" I asked, walking over on my horse, fixing my black cowboy hat on my head. "Who's the woman you brought home last night. Are you cheating on me now!" She bawled her hands in fists at her sides. Bending down my head I shake my head. "No darlin' I'm not cheating on you. The only girl I care about is you." Beth rolled her eyes, throwing her hands up in the air, nearly making a scene. "Cut the crap Rip. I don't want to hear your lies-" I cut her off trying to end this crazy thing she thinks about. "It's not a lie, Bethany!" Beth sucked in a breath as I called her full name. "Then tell me you have no attraction for that whore!" She directed her index finger towards Y/n who exits the main house talking to someone on the phone and by her facial reactions I can tell it's not good.
Y/N’s POV
Y/N was currently on the phone with her mother, fighting back tears “mama, what do you mean that daddy is in the hospital.” She says, trying to remain composed as she heads to the barn as she continues talking to her mama “alright mama, hold your horses. I’m coming home right now” She says, throwing her bags into her car before walking up to Beth “for your information, i’m not a whore. I have never slept with anyone but him. He was my first, so you can get that out of your head.” She says, looking at Rip “i have to go home, my dad is in the hospital and they are saying he had a stroke so you have a nice life. I won’t be a problem anymore” She says, driving out of the ranch driveway as she headed home as she saw her mama in the hospital as she saw her daddy as she grabbed his hand “hi daddy. Are you feeling alright?” She says softly
Rip’s POV
Y/n storms off driving away and I death glare at Beth kicking my horse to race to the barn. Dismounting the horse I jump in my truck hoping to catch up with her. Parking quickly in the parking lot of the hospital I knew I needed to apologize for Beth's words. She doesn't care about what she says. Entering the hospital I see a nurse at the desk so I clear my throat. "Can you point me in the direction of a girl with the last name L/n?" The nurse pointed down the hallway to the right. Standing outside the room I take a few breaths removing my black hat. "Sweetheart I'm fine. I just overdid it at last night's show." A man's voice meets my ears, most likely her father. "Where were you last night. You said you would be home. Did you not see the messages I left you!" A woman scolds her with a raised tone where I rounded the corner intervening. "She was with me last night ma'am." Y/n and her mother both spun on their feet where her mother stomped up in my face. "And where do you live cowboy!" I put my hat back on my head answering her with a lump in the back of my throat. "The Yellowstone Dutton ranch, ma'am." Y/n's mother stood almost frozen in her place. "You work for John Dutton?" Y/n finally spoke up, grabbing my forearm and pulling me back into the hallway. "He does mama. Excuse us for a minute."
Y/N’s POV
Y/N looked at Rip “what are you doing here, i thought you were with the big man’s daughter” She says softly, sighing softly “This is supposed to be a one time thing, but it’s hard to stay away from you. I don’t wanna cause you problems, I have enough going on right now.” She says, looking down at her feet as she was already anxious and worried about her dad but she had found out some other things as she pulled her hair into a ponytail as she was still shaken up “i need to know what you want to do because i won’t be second choice everytime that you fight with her. I am not a rebound, or second choice Rip. do you understand me” She says, her voice breaking as she looks at the cowboy in front of her. Y/N was the oldest out of four brothers, and the only girl as she continues to look at Rip “i need a verbal answer, so i know that i am not wasting my time Rip… This is a serious thing, and I need to know.'' She says softly, looking at him still as she was waiting for his answer.
Rip’s POV
What am I supposed to say to her. Yes I am with Beth but there's something about this girl that drives me crazy. I don't want to hurt her and tell her she's just a rebound because she's different from Beth. More innocent and less lightly to tear someone's head off if they came after her family. Eyeing Y/n up and down something in my brain snapped when I stride forward cupping her face in my hands kissing her. I feel her gasp against the kiss at first but then her hands run up my jacket to go around my neck finally kissing me back. "You're neither a rebound or a second choice. I don't know why yet but I can't get you out of my head. I've never felt like this, not even with my boss's daughter. I understand if you want to never see me again for saying this. But go on a date with me. Let me do this right like I should've done in the first place." Y/n tried to speak staring into my eyes but I rested a finger to her lips. "If you hate it then I'll never come near you again. I promise." Silence feels the hallway and I think she's going to punch me but her response simply is a tiny head nod yes.

Not All Family Is Blood
Gif credit @bodybebangin.
Hope you all enjoy.
If you would like to be tagged in Yellowstone fics, I'll be happy to tag you so you don't miss out.
Warning: Assault. Mentioning of abuse. Custody battle.
"Daddy Rip"! Reilly, your six year old daughter screamed with a giggle running down to the barn where Rip was attending to his horse. You might be wondering why she called him daddy Rip well it's kind of complicated.
"Hey, baby girl". He laughed scooping her up in his arms and hugging her tight.
"Guess what I made in school today"? She asked excitedly.
"What's that"? Rip matched her excitement. Rip isn't her biological father. Her dad is still alive and somewhat in her life. But Rip has been there since the beginning. You two started off as friends and then the love grew more and you two got together when she was two. So all she knew him as was daddy Rip.
"I made a star from fruit loops".
Rip dramatically gasped as he was surprised but he knew what she was doing. He got her the fruit loops that morning and put them in her bookbag. "That's so cool. Did you save me any"?
Reilly giggled. "No daddy Rip. I used them all".
"Ah okay. I'll just eat your ears". Rip evily laughed as he nibbled on her ears. She was in a giggle fit.
"Put me down". She laughed and became serious when she had had enough. Rip put her down with a kiss to the top of her head.
"Hey baby". He pulled you to him and kissed your lips softly.
"Hey". You smile exhausted.
"What's wrong"?
"Nothing". You nodded to Reilly.
"Riels, why dont you go down there and beat up your uncle Jimmy. I give you permission while I talk to mommy". Rip chuckled as she ran off.
"What's going on"?
"Brian. He wants to take me back to count for custody".
"Why's he doing this now? You just came from court a week ago and they gave you full custody".
"He's being a dick. Just to make me mad".
"You know, that wont ever happen? He's not taking Reilly away from you. I'll make sure of that".
"Rip, you cant threaten him. He doesn't care that you will beat him to a pulp. He'll just use it against me in court".
Rip wrapped his arms around you protectively. "I'm not going to threaten him. I'm going to make sure he doesnt ever walk again. He wont take Reilly away. I promise. So dont worry". Rip kissed your head, reassuringly.
"Okay".
"Alright then. Let's go get our little cowgirl and head home".
"You go. I'm to tired to walk down there". You groaned with a giggle.
"Alright". Rip chuckled and went on his way. As you started up to your car you saw a black beat up car pull in and you knew exactly who it was.
"Bitch, where is my daughter"? Brian yelled from his car. He was to lazy to get out.
"What are you doing here? You cant just show up unannounced. This isn't my home".
"Where is Reilly"? Brian asked once again and this time got out of the car.
"She's with Rip".
"You let him take my daughter, alone"? He scoffed.
"I trust him more that I can throw you".
"Listen, you little bitch. If my daughter isn't in front of me in five seconds. I'm going to call the cops and say you're trying to kidnap her. Dont test me, whore". Brian was right up in your face.
"I dont have to do anything you say, Brian". You looked him cold in the eyes.
Brian clicked his tongue and started nodding his head. That's when you knew he was angry.
Before you knew it, his hand collided with your cheek and you felt shooting pain on the right side of your face.
"I'm going to tell you one more time. Get my daughter"! He yelled in your ear. You jerked your head back to look at him. Your blood was boiling. After taking years of his abuse, you finally wanted to kill him.
"Y/N"? Rip called out as he walked up to the cars. Teeter and Colby followed him.
"Give me my daughter asshole". Brian spoke stepping in front of you. You still held your face.
Rip handed Rielly to Teeter and told her and Colby to take Rielly inside his place. They quickly left.
"You do that to her face"? Rip jogged up to Brian, pointing to you. His cowboy boots scattered dust as he jogged.
"Bitch, needed to learn. She doesn't disobey me". Brian turned his slightly looking at you with a smirk.
"That's funny. I was thinking the same thing about you". Rip reared back and punched Brian in the face. Brian stumbled back but Rip didn't let up. He punched Brian in the face again. Brian fell down and Rip hovered over him, his fist balled up and ready for another punch.
"You ever come near Y/N or Rielly again. I will kill you where you stand. Do you understand, boy"? Rip stood over Brian as Brian whimpered and groan holding his nose.
"Do you"? Rip growled.
Brian nodded.
"Now get the fuck out of here".
Brian hauled ass back to his car. Picking himself up and jumping into his car. He sped away.
"Are you okay"? Rip took your face in his hands gently looking you over.
"I'm fine".
"Fucking asshole". Rip spat on the ground.
"I can't believe you just did that. I'm going to lose Rielly now". You whispered to yourself. Rip turned his head quickly.
"No you're not. I promised you I wont let that happen and I'm keeping to that". Rip took your hand in his.
"I'm just scared. That's all. I've put up with Brian's abuse for years and I dont want that happening to Rielly. That's why I left when she was a baby".
"It's not going to happen. They have to pry her from my cold dead hands before he gets her. And I'm pretty hard to kill". Rip chuckled, making you smile.
"Thank you. For everything. You saved us". You wrapped Rips arm around your waist as you still held his hand and tip toed up and kissed his lips. "I love you".
"I love you too. Now let's get some ice on that cheek and go get something to eat. I've worked up a appetite". Rip and you took off down to his place.
You knew this wasnt going to be the last time you see Brian about custody. But Rip, had something up his sleeve if it ever did occur.

We always come to you to gush...so, here's a free gush card for you! 🥰
YAY!! you are so kind, dearest anon!!! thank you so much!!!! :D
*cracks knuckles* here we go!! :)
Recently, I fell head over heels for a brand new f/o and I am OBSESSED. So prepare yourself for le gushing extraordinaire ;)
Rip Wheeler from Yellowstone has absolutely stolen my heart (not even gonna pretend as if I didn't hand it over on a golden platter 😋 )
(If you're under 18, definitely do not watch the show. I'm taking it carefully because of some heavy duty triggering themes. But Youtube has some excellent (clean) clips! And if anyone happens to notice there seems to be a cowboy-esque lean to a majority of my f/os...you would be totally right, I definitely have a type 😋 )
So Rip is...terrifying, to say the least 🤣 As in: "I can make your problems go away" = murder (but he's the good guy I swear! the morality of this show is so much gray area...)
(Why does little ol' me, shy, introverted, and riddled with anxiety end up with these f/o dudes twice my size who could snap you in half without breaking a sweat???? I don't know!! But I'm livin' the dream!!!)
Anyway, yeah so Rip is...the softy-est softie. Mush pot. Hearteyes Central here, folks.
(Yeah, he's got blood on his hands. And he knows how to hide a body in more ways than one...don't look at me like that)
He had a really shitty childhood (super abusive family, he doesn't even know what day he was born, never had a birthday celebrated, etc.)
He's the foreman on a giant ranch in Montana now and let me tell you your girl right here is SWOONING. *chef's kiss*
He's a GIANT sucker for pet names. Honey, baby, sweetie, I WEEP.
Also: every time he says "darlin'" with a touch of that polite country boy accent??? Lay me down to rest in a shallow grave, my loves, I'm deceased!!
Protective level ramped up to: 110% bloodthirsty level. Will not bat an eye to break bones and bust heads if someone hurts the people he loves.
There's EVEN MORE:
He's so good and gentle with horses
He prefers the wild range of Montana instead of small talk and socializing (CLEARLY we're soulmates on that fact alone 🤣)
Canonically the first one to say "I love you" in a relationship (no constipated displays of emotion here! yes, he's a murderer, stop pointing that out)
Soooo tactile with physical affection, I mean we're talking: cupping your cheek, cradling your face in his hands, pulling you onto his lap... 😩😩😩
Has actually canonically said he doesn't want kids (THANK GOD)
I could go on and on but I'm definitely besotted with this cowboy :)
